Set up a project

Launch Lantern to get started with your first project.

Lantern runs entirely in your browser. The files required to run it are downloaded when you launch it. All project data is stored and processed locally in your browser (IndexDB) and is never sent to a server. Lantern does not use cookies to track you or your actions in the application.

You can start in one of three ways:

• Download an example project and import it into Lantern if you want to explore an existing model.
• Follow this guide to create a project with a public LLM such as ChatGPT.
• Create a new project from scratch.

How to import the example project

1. Download the example project.
2. Launch Lantern.
3. Click Add project to open the dropdown menu.
4. Select Import project.
5. Drop the downloaded project file into the designated area.
